Context of this customer case :
Asian couple with children, looking to settle in Lyon. Main objectif of the project: to experience a european lifestyle and French education with their kids.
Challenges :
- Visa status: They have a visitor’s visa.
- Financial situation: Stable with an income coming from abroad.
- Administrative challenges: No French working contract, no pay slips, no French income tax return, no guarantor.
- Knowledge of the city and the language: They have never been to Lyon, they speak basic French.
- Objectives: Find accommodation and enroll the kids in school before their arrival.
Apartment search criteria :
- Type of accommodation: Unfurnished and very bright apartment in the heart of the city, modern style, 3 or 4-bedrooms, open and equipped kitchen; recent or ancient charming building.
- Amenities required: Air conditioner (if possible), building with elevator.
- Location: Lyon city center, Lyon 6, 3, 2, 1. Neighborhood: nice, safe, quiet and good local schools. Shops and restaurants near by.
- Time constraint: Arrival planned for July, peak rental season.
Search and Resolution Process :
- Start of search: May.
- Strategy: Use my expertise to assemble the documents needed for a solid, convincing rental file.
- Apartment selection: 3 apartment viewings by videocall (while still living abroad) and 3 viewings in person, all apartments meeting the customer’s criteria.
- Conclusion: Lease confirmed and signed in July in order to confirm the children’s school enrollment.
